Every Teacher's Dream

Curious how our ‘Test the Toolbox’ day went at Thameside Primary School? Read what the teacher leading the project, Ingrid Burton, had to say …

All Year 3 participated (57 students, aged 7-8) and the Toolbox provided a focal point for the centre of the group circle that they came back to between activities. The 5 Happiness Keys gave the children a range of amazing things to do. They also loved the stickers, posters and postcards.

It was a really inspiring day – I would love to share the photos we took … go to our school website … and you can see for yourself the fun we had.

I want to roll out the Toolbox to the whole school in September! I have given the guide to our PSHE (personal, social, health and economic education) coordinator to take it forward. We will also be looking at the impact it is having on the children’s learning.

We have already seen how INSIDE OUT has helped some of our SEN (special education needs) children who don’t always have positive attitudes, and who find aspects of learning and engaging in the curriculum difficult. The Toolbox will enable us to integrate the programme into school life — that’s fantastic!”

So our Toolbox for schools had quite an opening day. Think we’re onto something!
