Paper cups, table.
Instructions
Give each child 20 paper cups and ask them to build a tower on their own in 2 minutes.
Count how many cups each child successfully stacked in their tower.
Then, ask children to take their cups and work in groups of 4 to a build a new tower of cups - still giving 2 minutes.
Ask children to compare the difference – in cups – and how they felt working together.
Teacher Notes
For an extended activity, film the children building their towers and show it to them afterwards so they see the difference working alone and as a team.
