INSIDE OUT began back in 2013, when I became convinced, from personal experience, of a well-proven concept – happiness fuels success, and not the other way around.
To help children gain a ‘toolkit’ of life skills to feel better and learn better, a passionate team created inspirational Magical Days Out which combine mindfulness, nature and horses. Over 300 children have already benefited, and demand is growing from teachers and children.

Consultations with our INSIDE OUT team, trustees, teachers and even the children themselves have helped shape our strategic priorities. We are now ready to focus on enhancing our 2 other programme areas – our School Toolbox resources and Teacher Training – to help our partner schools embed INSIDE OUT into their curricula. Our ‘2020 Vision’ will systematically develop INSIDE OUT from our magical experiences into a whole-school culture of wellbeing.
Using our new Happiness Index, we will measure the effects of INSIDE OUT on children’s wellbeing, and hone our methodology to share our ambition for happiness with the international wellbeing education community.
At INSIDE OUT, our mantra is happy children learn better. This mantra together with our core values – Have Fun, Keep It Simple, Experiment, Be Mindful, Be Kind – defines our INSIDE OUT culture and will guide our dedicated team in everything we do. Our ‘2020 Vision’ works towards a hopeful future, in which the happiness of children is considered as important as their academic achievement.
